MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Top offensive lineman prospect Kevin Brown, hailing from Harrisburg High School, has officially announced his commitment to West Virginia University for the Class of 2026. Brown shared the news during a live segment on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show Tuesday afternoon.
The decision holds personal significance for Brown, as he is the son of Tim Brown, a former offensive lineman for the Mountaineers who played from 1999 to 2004 under coach Rich Rodriguez. This familial connection to WVU adds an intriguing layer to his commitment.
Previously, Kevin Brown had verbally committed to Penn State but opted to decommit following the firing of head coach James Franklin. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 285 pounds, he has garnered attention as one of the nation’s top prospects, with 247 Sports ranking him as the No. 9 offensive lineman and the third-best athlete in Pennsylvania for the Class of 2026.
Throughout his recruitment, Brown received scholarship offers from several prestigious programs, including Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Tennessee.
Currently, Brown’s Harrisburg team is enjoying a successful season with a perfect 12-0 record, having advanced to the PIAA Class 6A state quarterfinals.
