The pressure is mounting on West Bromwich Albion’s head coach, who is facing a challenging start to his tenure with seven consecutive away defeats and inconsistent performances since the season kicked off. In search of a much-needed turnaround, the Baggies welcomed an in-form Sheffield United to The Hawthorns.
In a bid to shift the momentum, head coach Mason has made three changes to the starting lineup. Defender Chris Mepham has been dropped following a subpar performance in the midweek loss at Southampton. He will be replaced by George Campbell, who steps in as the right-back, while summer signing Krystian Bielik continues to establish his place in the defense alongside Nat Phillips at center-back.
In midfield, Ousmane Diakite takes the field for the injured Alex Mowatt, who is sidelined due to a foot injury. Additionally, Mikey Johnston has returned to the starting eleven, replacing Samuel Iling-Junior.
The Baggies’ lineup for the match includes: Wildsmith, Campbell, Bielik, Phillips, Styles, Diakite, Molumby, Johnston, Price, Grant, and Heggebo on the pitch, with substitutes including Griffiths, Wallis, Gilchrist, Mepham, Iling-Junior, Dike, Maja, Bostock, and Taylor.
The team and fans are hopeful that these changes will spark a much-needed revival, aiming to break their current disappointing streak and regain momentum in the league.
