The Wales men’s rugby team is set to take on Fiji at Cardiff City Stadium, marking the launch of the inaugural Nations Championship in July. This match on Saturday, July 4, will be a historic event as it is the first time the Welsh national team will play an international match at the home of Cardiff City football club.

Further details regarding the fixture are anticipated to be released this week. In addition to the match against Fiji, Wales will compete in three away games this summer against Argentina and South Africa as part of World Rugby’s new biennial competition.

Fiji, facing logistical challenges related to travel to the Pacific Islands, will hold their home matches in larger venues outside of their country to maximize revenue. They are scheduled to play England in the second round and will conclude the group stage against Scotland.

The Principality Stadium, known for hosting various events, will not be available for matches during late June and early July due to its schedule, which includes a concert by rock band Metallica on June 28 and a performance by Take That shortly before.

Later in the year, Wales will welcome Japan, New Zealand, and Australia to the Principality Stadium in November for the latter part of the Nations Championship, promising a thrilling continuation of international rugby.
