Tyler Herro made a significant impact in his return to the Miami Heat during their recent win over the Atlanta Hawks. The 2025 All-Star delivered a stellar performance, scoring a game-high 24 points with an impressive 9-of-14 shooting accuracy in just 23 minutes off the bench. In addition to his scoring prowess, Herro contributed four rebounds, three assists, and a steal, showcasing his all-around abilities on the court.
Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra noted that while Herro’s role as a reserve is currently in place, it may not be a long-term arrangement. Spoelstra emphasized the importance of managing Herro’s minutes carefully, indicating that there is no fixed timeline for his return to the starting lineup. “Right now we’re just trying to get him out there,” he stated. “We’re how many ever games into the season right now and we finally have our full roster. We’re just going to try to maximize these next 25 games as much as possible.”
Herro had been sidelined for the previous 15 games due to three fractured ribs but made his return wearing a protective flak jacket. He expressed his determination to finish the season strong, highlighting his focus on playing consistently healthy games after only being able to participate in 12 games thus far this season. “I just want to get out here and play with the whole team, get comfortable, and just stack some healthy games together,” Herro mentioned, adding that he is eagerly looking forward to the upcoming offseason when he becomes extension-eligible.
With Herro back in the lineup, the Heat are hopeful that he can contribute to their success during the latter part of the season. His return may not only bolster the team’s performance but also serve as a catalyst for improved synergy among the players as they aim to secure a strong playoff position.
