Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Gulf, a prominent U.S. company, has announced ambitious plans to establish a significant network of gas stations in Uzbekistan and invest in the country’s aviation sector. This development was disclosed on February 18 during a meeting in Washington between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and representatives from U.S. businesses and financial institutions, with Gulf Vice President Craig Kramer providing details on the initiative.

Over the next two years, Gulf aims to open at least 100 modern gas stations throughout Uzbekistan, all compliant with Western standards. Kramer emphasized that these stations will be constructed following strict specifications and will provide high-quality fuel. The company plans to invest no less than $150 million in retail assets during this period, ensuring that each facility is distinct in both capacity and design.

The initiative also includes the creation of multifunctional transport centers along major highways, designed to serve tourists and transit carriers. Each location is expected to generate approximately 30 jobs, contributing to the creation of over 3,000 new positions for Uzbek citizens overall.

Kramer noted the enthusiasm of regional authorities in collaborating with Gulf, revealing that governors from all areas of Uzbekistan have put forth tangible proposals for the development of nearly 200 gas stations across the nation. This response highlights both the favorable business environment and high levels of investor confidence in Uzbekistan.

In addition to its retail ambitions, Gulf is eager to expand its presence in the aviation sector. Through Gulf Aviation, the company plans to invest about $50 million to enhance the country’s aviation infrastructure. These investments will focus on implementing modern technologies and establishing a reliable fuel supply system to support the rapidly growing needs of both domestic and international airlines.

Gulf’s operational base for Central Asia will be situated in Tashkent. This strategic location underscores the company’s commitment to helping Uzbekistan evolve into a regional logistics and retail hub, thereby bolstering its economic influence in Central Asia. The ongoing collaboration reflects a promising future for both Gulf and Uzbekistan as they work together to advance the nation’s infrastructure and economy.
