Tottenham Hotspur has officially signed England midfielder Conor Gallagher from Atlético Madrid in a transfer deal valued at around €40 million (£34.7 million). The 25-year-old has agreed to a contract that will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2031.
Initially, Aston Villa appeared to be the frontrunners in securing Gallagher’s signature, as he sought more playing time ahead of the upcoming World Cup. However, Tottenham successfully persuaded the former Chelsea academy product to return to London.
Spurs head coach Thomas Frank expressed his enthusiasm about the signing, stating, “Conor is a top midfielder, who we have worked tirelessly to add to our squad. He is still young and has plenty of room for improvement, but also brings substantial experience from the Premier League, La Liga, and the England national team.”
