The 2025 ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards, held in Nadi last weekend, showcased the outstanding contributions of several key players in the tourism sector, with Rosie Holidays, Nanuku Island Resort, and IHG Hotels and Resorts Fiji emerging as standout winners.
Rosie Holidays was particularly celebrated, securing three major accolades, including the 2025 Inbound and Transport Operator Award and the 2025 Cultural Tourism Champion award for Eroni Bole. Additionally, the company was recognized for its Malolo Island Resort, which boasts fewer than 50 rooms, winning the 2025 Accommodation Deluxe award. Tony Whitton, managing director of Rosie Travel Group and Ahura Resorts, expressed his pride in their team of over 700 employees, highlighting their vital contributions to the company’s success and consistent dedication to excellence.
IHG Hotels and Resorts Fiji also made its mark, with regional general manager Lachlan Walker noting the critical role of their workforce as the company’s greatest asset. The group received two prestigious awards: Conference and Incentives Operator of the Year and the Training and Development Award. Furthermore, Akshay Alvin Chand, the IT manager for Intercontinental Resort, was honored with the Rising Star award, reflecting IHG’s commitment to nurturing talent within its organization.
Nanuku Island Resort, located in Pacific Harbour, triumphed by winning the Community CSR Award for its impressive support of local villages and communities in Serua. The resort also clinched the 2025 Food Tourism Award, further recognizing its dedicated initiatives in promoting local cuisine. Human resources manager Charlotte Steele credited their achievements to the hard work of their team over the past four years, dedicating the award to their staff in Pacific Harbour for their crucial efforts in reaching this success.
