The ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA) recently celebrated the outstanding achievements within Fiji’s tourism industry at a glamorous event held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Wailoaloa, Nadi. This year marked a notable occasion as the event distributed a record 25 awards, reinforcing its vital role in the region’s economic development.

Under the theme “Echoes of Fiji,” the ceremony honored the hard work and creativity of individuals and enterprises driving growth in Fiji’s vibrant tourism landscape. Debra Sadranu, chairperson of the FETA board, emphasized the significance of recognizing the remarkable accomplishments achieved in the industry over the past year.

Among the distinguished winners were Mark and Janice Hinton, who were presented with the Visionary Award, and Narend Kumar, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Additionally, Kolora Mason was honored with the Dixon Seeto Tourism Leader award, while Sawani Hoyt from Tropica Island Resort earned the Employee Excellence in Service award. Other noteworthy recipients included Akshay Avin Chand, named Rising Star, and Eroni Bole of Rosie Holidays, who was recognized as the Cultural Tourism Champion.

The awards ceremony showcased a variety of tourism sectors, celebrating Nanuka Island Resort for its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and Kaibu Fiji Private Island for its commitment to Environmental Sustainability. Other accolades spanned food tourism, dive operations, and wedding services, highlighting the rich array of experiences that Fiji has to offer.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka attended the event, underscoring government support for the tourism sector’s ongoing growth. The achievements recognized at FETA serve as a testament to the resilience and innovation fueling the industry, paving the way for a promising future.
