Tiger Woods Watches Charlie Woods Shine as Benjamin School Clinches Florida Title

Charlie Woods showcased his golfing prowess by tying for the low final round score in a stunning performance that led Benjamin School to clinch its second FHSAA Class 1A team title in three years. Competing on Saturday at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, the junior golfer from the Palm Beach private school carded a remarkable 4-under 68, including a crucial birdie on his final hole. His strong finish helped propel Benjamin School to a five-shot victory over The First Academy, which was significant as it marked their second championship win since Woods joined the team as a freshman.

Woods’ score of 68 tied him with First Academy senior Mingbo Jiang, who will be joining USC next year and secured the individual title by three shots over Benjamin teammate Andrew Tsar, also a junior. Charlie Woods ultimately finished the tournament tied for fourth place at 2 under par.

Notably present at the event was his father, the legendary Tiger Woods, a 15-time major champion, who was there to offer his support. The golfing father-son duo captured the attention of attendees as Tiger walked the course alongside Elin Nordegren and members of his TGR staff.

Charlie Woods continues to make waves in the junior golf circuit, recently winning the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational and tying for ninth place at the Junior PGA Championship this summer. His performance has earned him a ranking as a first-team AJGA Rolex Junior All-American, positioning him ninth overall in the AJGA rankings and fourth within his graduating Class of 2027.

While there has been no official announcement regarding his college recruitment, Woods remains the highest-ranked 2027 recruit without a verbal commitment. Noteworthy prospects such as Miles Russell, Giuseppe Puebla, and Jesse Huebner have already signed with top programs. However, Woods has drawn interest from several leading schools within the SEC and ACC. The presence of Florida State head coach Trey Jones at the event, where he was spotted conversing with Tiger Woods, suggests the Seminoles may be in pursuit of the promising young golfer.

Charlie Woods’ impressive achievements and the support he receives from his father point towards a bright future in golf, with potential opportunities on the collegiate level continuing to unfold.
