Rigetti Q3 Earnings: Narrow Loss, Revenue Miss Triggers After-Hours Selloff in Quantum Computing

Rigetti Computing (RGTI) has announced a third-quarter adjusted loss that was less severe than expected, though its revenue fell short of market predictions, contributing to a decline in its stock price. Following the release of its earnings report, Rigetti’s stock dropped over 2% to $32.17 during after-hours trading.

For the quarter ending in September, Rigetti reported an adjusted loss of 3 cents per share, an improvement from a 7-cent loss a year prior. However, the company’s revenue fell by 18% to $1.95 million, which was below analyst expectations of a 5-cent loss and projected revenue of $2.2 million.

Despite the drop following the earnings announcement, Rigetti’s stock had experienced a substantial increase of 68% in 2025 leading up to the report. This period has seen volatility in the quantum computing sector, influenced by ongoing debates regarding the timeline for commercially viable quantum technologies, particularly in light of discussions surrounding Nvidia (NVDA).

On a technical analysis note, Rigetti holds a Composite Rating of 70 out of a potential 99, indicating a solid performance relative to growth stocks, where a rating of 90 or higher is considered excellent. Moreover, the company’s Accumulation/Distribution Rating stands at A, suggesting favorable conditions with recent heavy institutional buying.

As the landscape of quantum computing evolves, companies like Rigetti continue to be at the forefront, working on solutions that leverage unique technologies to tackle complex problems beyond the reach of traditional computing. Investors and market observers are keenly following developments, especially with Quantum Computing (QUBT) set to release its own earnings report on Thursday.
