The Philadelphia Phillies have reportedly reached an agreement with veteran right-handed pitcher Bryse Wilson, according to Jon Heyman of The New York Post. While the specifics of the deal remain unconfirmed, it is anticipated to be a Major League contract.

Bryse Wilson, who made his Major League Baseball debut at the young age of 20 with the Atlanta Braves in 2018, has spent portions of eight seasons in the majors. He captured attention during the 2020 National League Championship Series when he allowed just one run across six innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, Wilson has yet to replicate that standout performance consistently.

His career trajectory has seen him play for multiple teams, including the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2021 to 2022, the Milwaukee Brewers in 2023 and 2024, and the Chicago White Sox in 2025. This past season with the White Sox was challenging for him, as he struggled, recording a 6.65 ERA over 20 appearances, with five of those being starts. In contrast, Wilson had a stronger campaign with the Brewers in 2023, where he achieved a 2.58 ERA across 76.2 innings, primarily serving as a reliever.

As he joins the Phillies, there is optimism that Wilson can play a valuable role in their bullpen, possibly as a long reliever. His adaptability means he could also step in as a starter if needed. Notably, Wilson is still only 28 years old, and his move to Philadelphia presents an opportunity for him to revive his career and contribute positively to the team’s pitching lineup in the upcoming 2026 season.
