NBC is embracing the festive season with a lineup of entertaining holiday specials scheduled to air on Wednesday nights. The holiday festivities kick off with the much-anticipated musical “Wicked,” featuring performances by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, airing on November 19. Following that, fans can enjoy the ever-popular “Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving special” at 9:00 p.m. on November 26.
On December 3, viewers can tune in for the annual “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” at 8:00 p.m. ET, followed by “Christmas in Nashville” at 10:00 p.m. ET, adding to the holiday cheer.
However, the lineup does present a temporary hiatus for the “One Chicago” franchise, which includes “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” and “Chicago P.D.” Unfortunately, new episodes are not airing during the holiday season. All three shows will return with fresh episodes on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. For those looking to catch up or enjoy previous episodes, all seasons of “Chicago Fire,” “Med,” and “P.D.” are available for streaming on Peacock.
Fans who subscribe to Peacock can choose from two different plans: Premium with ads at $10.99 per month and Premium Plus, which is ad-free, at $16.99 per month. Additionally, annual subscriptions are offered at a discounted rate, providing 12 months for the price of 10. Notably, Peacock Premium Plus can also be accessed through Prime Video with a seven-day free trial.
As the holiday season approaches, NBC’s lineup aims to bring joy and entertainment to viewers, reinforcing the network’s commitment to providing quality programming during this festive time. “One Chicago” is set to return on January 7, and fans can eagerly anticipate more thrilling stories and character developments after the break.
