Bungie has officially announced that its highly anticipated survival extraction shooter, Marathon, is scheduled for release on March 5. To mark this special occasion, the company will also release a limited edition Marathon-themed DualSense controller and a Marathon-branded Pulse Elite wireless headset, both available on the same day.
The limited edition DualSense controller will retail for $84.99 in the U.S., €84.99 in Europe, and £74.99 in the UK. Pre-orders for the controller will begin on January 29 at 10 AM local time through the PlayStation Direct store and participating retailers. Meanwhile, the Marathon Limited Edition Pulse Elite wireless headset will be exclusive to the U.S. and priced at $169.99.
In addition to the special hardware, Bungie has detailed the game’s various editions, including the Standard, Deluxe, and Collector’s Editions, each offering different content and bonuses. The Standard Edition, priced at $39.99, includes access to all gameplay updates throughout the year, along with exclusive pre-order bonuses such as weapon charms and emblems for Destiny 2.
The Deluxe Edition, available for $59.99, provides all Standard Edition content and additional rewards like a Premium Rewards Pass Voucher and various weapon skins and Runner shell cosmetics. The Collector’s Edition, priced at $229.99 with a game code and $170.00 without, offers everything from the Deluxe Edition along with a detailed 1/6th scale Thief Runner shell statue, collectible items, art postcards, and in-game cosmetics.
Originally slated for release on September 23, 2005, Marathon was delayed after Bungie received mixed feedback from alpha tests and faced controversy regarding stolen artwork discovered in those test builds. The studio emphasized that Marathon will feature no pay-to-win mechanics, ensuring that players can access all gameplay updates, maps, and events without limitations.
This upcoming launch reflects Bungie’s commitment to improving player experience and providing exciting new content, making March 5 a date to remember for fans of the franchise.
