Las Vegas is gearing up for an electrifying New Year’s Eve celebration, with predictions of bustling crowds along the Strip and downtown as hundreds of thousands of revelers gather to witness the dazzling midnight fireworks as the city welcomes 2026. As in previous years, the festivities will include significant road closures, with resorts launching a spectacular fireworks display from their rooftops, transforming the resort corridor into a walkable area for optimal viewing.
This year, the traditional fireworks show will welcome an exciting new feature: a large-scale drone display. For the first time, approximately 600 synchronized drones will light up the night sky in a coordinated performance alongside the fireworks, enhancing the overall visual spectacle. The drones will be launched from the Las Vegas Event Plaza, located directly across from Wynn Las Vegas, during the countdown to midnight.
Major launch locations for the fireworks display this year will include notable venues such as ARIA Resort & Casino, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, among others. The Sphere is also set to be a focal point of the festivities, featuring a live countdown displayed on its exterior.
Weather forecasts for New Year’s Eve indicate mostly dry conditions throughout the day and evening, although there is a possibility of light showers after 4 p.m. with the highest likelihood during the evening hours. By the time festivities kick off, rain is expected to diminish, allowing for a clearer view of the celebrations. Temperatures are anticipated to be mild, hovering around 50 degrees at midnight, with highs in the mid to upper 50s and lows in the upper 40s.
As Las Vegas continues to hold its reputation as a premier destination for New Year’s celebrations, attendees can look forward to an unforgettable evening filled with stunning visuals and the joyous atmosphere that characterizes the city.
