Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt’s Thanksgiving Twist: Pulled Pork Replaces Turkey

Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt recently opened up about her unconventional approach to Thanksgiving food during an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” In a light-hearted admission, she shared her lack of enthusiasm for traditional Thanksgiving dishes, revealing that her brother Patrick often expresses his discontent with her culinary choices. “I feel like I shouldn’t say this, because it’s, like, just so controversial to say that I don’t like Thanksgiving food,” she said.

For years, Schwarzenegger Pratt opted for dishes like enchiladas rather than the traditional turkey and stuffing, which often led to playful disagreements with her family. However, her husband, actor Chris Pratt, introduced a twist to their Thanksgiving meals by opting for pulled pork sandwiches, which she finds more agreeable. “His Thanksgiving tradition is now that he puts that as part of our whole tablescape at my mom’s house,” she said, noting that her enchiladas have been replaced, but she has embraced his new family tradition.

Beyond the food, Schwarzenegger Pratt expressed her love for the holiday season, highlighting its focus on family rather than gifts. “I love the holiday season, especially Thanksgiving, because it’s not so focused around gifts. It’s just like people can enjoy each other’s company,” she emphasized.

In a subsequent Instagram post, she thanked Hudson for the opportunity to discuss her family traditions and expressed her excitement about the holiday spirit. A few years prior, she noted that Chris took on most of the cooking responsibilities, indicating their shared approach to family traditions. “This Thanksgiving I’m going to throw that apron on him and that oven mitt and that’s going to be a big new tradition in our family,” she had mentioned earlier this year.

Schwarzenegger Pratt’s reflections remind us that, regardless of the culinary choices made, the essence of Thanksgiving lies in the love and joy shared with family and friends.
