Joe Piscopo, known for his time on NBC’s Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1984, has successfully transitioned into the world of conservative talk radio. He currently hosts the morning slot for a Salem Media spoken word AM station, reaching nearly all of the New York Tri-State Area, a position he will continue in for at least three more years.

Salem Media announced on Thursday that Piscopo’s talent agreement has been extended through 2028. This extension allows him to maintain his 6am to 10am slot on WNYM-AM 970, also known as “The Answer,” based in Hackensack, N.J. This extension solidifies a partnership that has been ongoing since Piscopo joined the station in 2014.

The show, produced by Joe Sibilia, features seasoned hosts including Al Gattullo delivering the news, Debbie DuHaime handling traffic updates, and Stephen Parr providing weather forecasts. Laura Sheaffer, the General Manager for Salem Media of New York, praised Piscopo’s work, stating, “His authenticity and connection with our listeners are extraordinary, and extending his presence on AM 970 The Answer was an easy decision. Joe continues to raise the bar every single morning.”

This extension not only showcases Piscopo’s enduring popularity but also highlights the station’s commitment to quality programming in the competitive landscape of radio broadcasting. As he continues to evolve in his radio career, listeners can remain excited about his contributions to morning talk and entertainment in the Tri-State area.
