According to McCarthy, there is a strategic element to their annual photoshoot, which coincides with Wahlberg’s rigorous training schedule after his performances during his Vegas residency. She humorously mentioned, “We always shoot it when Donnie gets off of tour, so he’s been dancing around on stage for the whole three months for his Vegas residency and is in great shape.” McCarthy also playfully noted the urgency of capturing the shoot before Wahlberg indulges in his love for donuts—a nod to his role in “Blue Bloods.”
Despite their festive cheer, McCarthy revealed some personal challenges she has faced recently. She has undergone multiple mouth surgeries due to a series of complications, beginning with a problematic dental implant. “I’ve had nine surgeries this year, on my mouth,” she shared. The struggles with recurring infections and surgeries led to a strict diet of soft foods, a situation she approached with a touch of humor, saying, “People should actually feel a little sorry for me.”
