Home Improvement Star Zachery Ty Bryan Arrested Again in Oregon

Zachery Ty Bryan, known for his role in “Home Improvement,” has been arrested once again in Oregon. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office reported the 44-year-old was taken into custody on Saturday, November 29, after deputies responded to a call regarding reckless endangering near a popular camping location at Big Fall Creek Road.

Authorities found Bryan in a pickup truck with 32-year-old Johnnie Faye Cartwright from Eugene and their three children. At one point, Bryan exited the vehicle and started walking along Big Fall Creek Road. In a troubling turn of events, Cartwright allegedly attempted to run Bryan over, resulting in the truck crashing into a ditch with the children still inside. Fortunately, Bryan managed to avoid injury, and none of the occupants in the truck sustained harm.

Upon investigation, deputies observed signs indicating that both Bryan and Cartwright were impaired. Cartwright was subsequently arrested and charged with first-degree attempted assault, three counts of recklessly endangering, and driving under the influence of intoxicants. It was revealed that Bryan was prohibited from having any contact with Cartwright due to an existing court order. As a result, he faced arrest for a probation violation linked to a previous fourth-degree assault charge and is currently being held without bail.

The three children were taken into protective custody and placed with a family member for their safety.

This recent incident marks Bryan’s sixth arrest in a span of five years. His legal troubles have included multiple charges ranging from domestic violence to DUI offenses. In January of this year, he was arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for second-degree domestic violence. Earlier in 2024, he faced DUI charges twice, first in February in La Quinta, California, and then in October in Custer County, Oklahoma. His past arrests have included charges for fourth-degree felony assault and robbery in Eugene in 2023, along with previous domestic violence arrests in 2020.

As Bryan navigates the challenges posed by his ongoing legal issues, there remains hope for growth and rehabilitation in addressing these serious matters moving forward.
