Gwyneth Paltrow recently shared insights into the differing attitudes towards the holiday season between herself and her husband, Brad Falchuk, whom she humorously dubbed a “Grinch.” During an episode of her “Goop” podcast on December 2, Paltrow expressed her deep love for Christmas and everything it entails, contrasting sharply with Falchuk’s preference to forgo the celebrations altogether.

The 53-year-old actress revealed her enthusiasm for holiday traditions, saying, “I love the decorations, I love the Frank Sinatra Christmas album. I really get into the holiday spirit.” However, she noted that her husband, 54, has a notably different outlook on Christmas. “Brad is the worst,” she stated, sharing that he dislikes Christmas music, decorations, and even the traditional roast turkey dinner. When asked if Falchuk finds anything redeeming about the holidays, she humorously responded, “He looks forward to it being over.”

Despite this festive clashing, Paltrow is not entirely alone in her holiday cheer. Her children from her previous marriage to Chris Martin—21-year-old Apple and 19-year-old Moses—are on her side when it comes to enjoying the holidays. “I feel very alone in my house in my love for Christmas, although all the kids love it, so they’re on my side,” she mentioned.

Paltrow elaborated on her family’s Christmas traditions, explaining how they navigate both Christmas and Hanukkah celebrations. “We have a really fun Christmas morning. We usually take a long time to open presents and then have a long walk on the beach and, you know, eat and stay in pajamas,” she shared. Additionally, she described the family’s annual Boxing Day tradition, a carryover from her time in the U.K., where they indulge in relaxation and enjoy board games.

This playful holiday dynamic showcases a light-hearted approach to differing family traditions, and Paltrow’s festive spirit continues to shine through, buoyed by the support of her children and the joy that the season brings to their household.
