George Clooney and his family have officially become French citizens, as confirmed by a decree dated December 26, 2025, and published in the Journal officiel on December 27. The announcement details the naturalization process, which includes the reintegration of family members and mentions their minor children benefiting from collective nationality acquisition.

Clooney, born on May 6, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky, is now a French citizen alongside his wife, Amal Alamuddin, born on February 3, 1978, in Beirut, Lebanon, and their two children, Alexander and Ella, who were born on June 6, 2017, in Westminster, London.

The actor, known for his strong affection for France, has expressed his love for the country in numerous interviews. In addition to his citizenship, Clooney owns a vineyard in Brignoles, Var, which he purchased in the summer of 2021. The couple invested €9 million in the Domaine du Canadel, an 18th-century Provençal estate encompassing 900 square meters of living space and situated on 172 hectares of land, featuring a swimming pool, tennis court, olive fields, a vineyard, and a lake. Clooney has described this place as a joyful environment for his family, akin to his own happy childhood experiences in Kentucky.
