Chris Redman has been appointed as the new head coach of the Louisville Kings in the United Football League (UFL), marking an exciting new chapter for the franchise. The announcement was made today, highlighting Redman’s connection to Louisville, where he has left a lasting legacy in football.
Born and raised in Louisville, Redman led Louisville Male High School to a Kentucky state championship in 1993 under the guidance of his father, Bob Redman, who was his head coach. His talent earned him a spot at the University of Louisville, where he excelled before being drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2000 NFL Draft.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Redman stated, “I am incredibly grateful and excited for the opportunity to represent the new Louisville Kings. Louisville is home. I’ve been fortunate to have so many people support me throughout my career and I know they’ll be behind me and the Kings as we work to bring a championship to this city. I am ready to get started building a team and coaching staff with championship-level experience. We’re going to make Louisville proud.”
The UFL, born out of the merger between the XFL and USFL, is set to begin its third season in March, and the Louisville Kings will be making their debut as a first-year franchise in the eight-team league. Redman’s leadership brings hope and anticipation to the Kings’ future as they work to carve out their identity in the league. With his local ties and passion for the game, fans are eager to see how he will inspire the team and the community.
