Recent statistics reveal a troubling trend, with a staggering 73 percent increase in traffic fatalities reported this quarter compared to previous years. Within this period, 26 fatalities occurred, including nine pedestrians, nine drivers, and eight passengers. The Commissioner attributed the persistent rise in road deaths partly to poor driving habits, despite ongoing road safety awareness campaigns.
Tudravu has called on the people of Fiji to change their driving attitudes and adopt safer practices, especially as the festive season approaches. He emphasizes that a collective effort is crucial, urging all drivers to observe road safety guidelines diligently.
