Fiji Pine Group has entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the iTaukei Trust Fund Board and the Global Green Growth Institute. This partnership is set to enhance renewable energy initiatives and foster community development within Fiji.

The newly formed collaboration aims to provide opportunities for iTaukei and Rotuman communities, emphasizing the importance of developing local skills while also promoting sustainable economic growth. This effort aligns with Fiji’s broader commitment to transitioning toward clean energy solutions.

The MOU was signed by Ratu Rakuita Vakalalabure, the Executive Chairman of Fiji Pine Group, alongside Aisake Taito, CEO of the iTaukei Trust Fund Board, and Norbert Maass, the GGGI’s Country Representative for Fiji and Kiribati. During the signing ceremony, Ratu Rakuita highlighted the significance of leveraging land resources and industry expertise to create reliable and eco-friendly energy solutions. In support of this initiative, Maass pointed out that such green growth partnerships are essential for achieving long-term and sustainable development goals.

This agreement marks a promising step towards implementing renewable energy projects, attracting investment in clean technologies, and empowering local communities to manage and reap benefits from these energy solutions. With this collaboration, Fiji takes a collective stride toward a cleaner and more resilient future.
