Fiji Rugby Union is making significant strides in enhancing safety and inclusivity within the sport by implementing new safeguarding and workplace policies aimed at protecting both players and staff across the organization. During a recent board meeting, officials were educated on the Workplace Harassment, Gender-Based Violence, and Safeguarding Policies that were officially adopted last year. Following this meeting, an induction session for staff and management was conducted at Rugby House, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of these guidelines. In addition, key personnel have received specialized training to serve as focal points for the implementation and monitoring of these essential policies.

The long-term vision for Fiji Rugby is to ensure that these policies are not only fully embraced within the organization but also reach the wider rugby community. The initiative has garnered support from safeguarding and participation experts, including Tevita Seruilumi, consultant Tessa Walsh, and Tirahni Uluinakauvadra, further solidifying its importance.
