The Fiji Police Force is enhancing its festive season policing with the implementation of low-key tactical operations aimed at maintaining law and order. Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga reassured the public that security remains firmly under control, especially following the recent attempted robbery in Tacirua Heights.

Lutunauga emphasized the readiness of the police to respond swiftly to any criminal activities during this busy time of year, urging those contemplating crime to reconsider. “We will be out there in the public to respond to crimes, and we did so in the Tacirua incident. We have available men on the ground at this time,” he stated.

The prompt arrest of two suspects linked to the Tacirua Heights incident serves as a strong warning to would-be offenders, highlighting the police’s commitment to quick action during the festive season. The police force is intentionally keeping certain operations discreet to stay one step ahead of potential criminals, as it allows officers to operate without alerting offenders to their strategies.

As holiday activities increase both on land and sea, the police presence has been notably heightened at key locations including ports, road checkpoints, and other public areas, all in an effort to safeguard communities throughout the festive season. This proactive approach aims not only to deter crime but also to instill a sense of safety and security among the citizens as they celebrate.
