Fiji's School Holiday Football Grassroots Kicks Off at Fiji FA Academy

Fiji FA launches school holiday football grassroots program

The Fiji Football Association has launched its School Holiday Grassroots Program at the Fiji FA Academy in Vatuwaqa, successfully attracting over 30 enthusiastic children aged 9 to 14 on its opening day. Organizers are hopeful that as the holiday progresses, more children will join in, as parents look for engaging and constructive activities for their kids.

The program focuses on providing a fun environment while teaching foundational football skills, enabling young athletes to gain valuable experience in sportsmanship and teamwork. The Fiji FA encourages parents to enroll their children, highlighting the enriching opportunities available throughout the holiday season.

Set to run until December 17, the program features scheduled sessions tailored to different age groups. For instance, children aged 9-11 will participate in morning sessions starting at 9 am, while elite boys will have their training in the afternoon at 2 pm. This initiative not only promotes physical fitness but also nurtures community spirit and the development of essential skills among young players, making it a promising start for budding football talents in Fiji.
