Former Acting Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service, Sevuloni Naucikidi, made an appearance in court today facing a charge of criminal intimidation. The proceedings were held before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne, where Naucikidi’s legal team submitted a request for representation by attorney Tanya Waqanika.

During the hearing, the court was informed that the application for legal counsel was still under review, prompting a request for additional time. In response, Magistrate Somaratne granted a one-month adjournment. This extension allows the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to complete and file the necessary pre-trial conference documents and to resolve matters related to legal representation.

The case has been scheduled for further mention on February 23. This extension may provide the involved parties the opportunity to clarify the legal proceedings and ensure appropriate representation, contributing to a more effective judicial process.
