The Tampa Bay Lightning’s trade activity has largely been under the radar this season. General Manager Julien BriseBois has watched as the team lost Jack Finley through waivers and made only minor trades thus far. However, as the trade deadline looms, speculation is rife about potential moves that could invigorate the current roster, which, despite its injury history, is performing well in the conference standings.

Current rumors have circulated around several notable names, including Steven Stamkos and Nazem Kadri, with fleeting links to Artemi Panarin, though the Lightning reportedly balked at the terms of a potential extension for him. Amidst this uncertainty, two players have emerged as possible additions that could bolster the Lightning’s quest for a fourth Stanley Cup.

Taylor Raddysh, a 28-year-old right-shot winger currently with the New York Rangers, could fit the bill nicely. He is signed through the 2026-27 season at an affordable average annual value (AAV) of $1.5 million. As the Rangers grapple with a rebuilding phase and consider listening to offers, Raddysh could become a target for the Lightning. His prior connection to Tampa Bay, coupled with a below-average performance in the bottom-six role for the Rangers this season, could make him an intriguing yet economical option for bolstering the Lightning’s offensive depth, particularly on the power play.

Another potential candidate is Ryan Strome of the Anaheim Ducks. This 32-year-old right-shot center holds a contract through the same 2026-27 season with an AAV of $5 million. While the Ducks may not be aggressively marketing Strome, they are open to listening to offers. Given his diminished role alongside Anaheim’s influx of talent, a new environment could present Strome with an opportunity to flourish again. Although his stats this season show a decline, he has a track record of contributing 40-50 points per season and, given the Lightning’s need for a right-handed centerman, he could provide valuable experience and stabilization at the center position.

Both players represent strategic options for BriseBois as the trade deadline approaches. While neither acquisition would dramatically transform the franchise, they could present viable solutions to enhance the team’s depth and scoring ability. The anticipation surrounding potential trades continues to build, and with BriseBois at the helm, surprises are always a possibility.
