Residents can expect occasional to prolonged periods of rain, with some areas experiencing heavy downpours and occasional thunderstorms. Rainfall records from the past 24 hours show significant accumulations in various locations, including Penang, which received 93.0 millimeters, Dobuilevu with 85.5 millimeters, Vunisea at 83.5 millimeters, and Nagado, registering 79.0 millimeters.
Authorities have issued warnings that the heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding, particularly affecting flood-prone and low-lying informal settlements and communities. Businesses and major crossings may also face disruptions, which could lead to traffic delays.
Motorists are advised to drive cautiously as slippery road conditions can pose hazards, increasing the risk of accidents and travel interruptions in low-lying or poorly drained areas.
