A flash flood warning has been issued for all of Fiji as weather conditions continue to worsen. The Fiji Meteorological Service has upgraded its alert due to a persistent trough of low pressure that is bringing increased cloud cover and continuous rainfall over the region, significantly raising the risk of flash flooding.

Coastal and low-lying areas are especially vulnerable, with tides expected to compound the situation. In Lautoka, high tides are projected to reach 1.62 meters at approximately 2:37 PM, while Suva anticipates a high tide of 1.54 meters at around 3:26 PM.

The primary concern is flash flooding arising from isolated heavy rainfall, which could lead to significant impacts including flooding in drainage systems, small streams, low-water bridges, and roads. Properties situated in flood-prone areas are particularly at risk.

Authorities are urging the public to stay vigilant and to avoid unnecessary travel in flooded regions. Residents are asked to heed the advice of local officials as heavy rain continues to affect the entire country.
