The Justice Department has made public thousands of additional documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, including a disturbing letter allegedly addressed to fellow convict Larry Nassar that hints at shared predilections and even references President Donald Trump. The letter, dated August 13, 2019, was notably returned to Epstein, who hints at his own imminent demise with the phrase “short route home.”

In the letter, Epstein writes, “Good luck! We shared one thing…our love & caring for young ladies and the hope they’d reach their full potential. Our president also shares our love of young, nubile girls.” This unsettling correspondence not only reveals Epstein’s mindset but also indicates a shared mentality among notorious sex offenders. He referenced Trump in a dubious manner, suggesting that the former president had similar inclinations.

Nassar, a former doctor for the U.S. women’s national gymnastics team, was convicted on multiple charges, including possession of child pornography and sexual assault against young women under the pretense of medical treatment. He is currently serving six decades in prison following multiple sentences imposed in 2017 and 2018, and has faced violent incidents behind bars, including being stabbed by another inmate in 2023.

Epstein, who had been awaiting trial for federal sex trafficking charges, was found dead in his cell on August 10, 2019, just days before he sent the letter. This disturbing timing raises concerns about his state of mind and intentions leading up to his death. The newly released documents from the Justice Department follow a delay in the publication of the complete set of Epstein files, which has been a matter of public interest and scrutiny.

While the revelations from Epstein’s letter may evoke deep concern about the connections between those involved in systemic abuse, they also highlight the ongoing conversation around accountability for such crimes and the importance of supporting survivors. The release of these documents serves as a reminder of the enduring impact of these cases and the need for continued advocacy against sexual violence and exploitation.
