Nearly 180 outstanding educators from Duval County are set to be celebrated at the 35th Annual EDDY Awards on Saturday, January 24, where the recipient of the 2026 VyStar Duval County Teacher of the Year will be announced. This esteemed award will position the winner to represent Duval County in the Florida Teacher of the Year program, showcasing the community’s commitment to excellence in education.
The EDDY Awards, organized by the Jacksonville Public Education Fund, serve as a year-long initiative aimed at honoring and uplifting the most dedicated teachers in the Duval County public school system. VyStar Credit Union continues its role as the title sponsor of the event, supporting various recognition activities in conjunction with the Teacher of the Year program. The history of elevating teacher recognition in Duval County dates back over 30 years, thanks in part to Deerwood Rotary, which is credited as a pivotal partner. Alongside Deerwood Rotary, other sponsors including Florida Blue and Deutsche Bank will also serve as finalist sponsors for this significant event.

Additionally, this teacher will take on the role of an ex-officio member of the Jacksonville Public Education Fund Board of Directors for the following year, continuing a long-standing tradition.
