Dr. Peggy Ravusiro, a contestant in the Ms Labasa and Miss Fiji Pageant, has proudly graduated with her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from Fiji National University. This milestone comes after six years of dedication and hard work, a journey she credits to the unyielding support of her family.
Dr. Ravusiro reflected on her experience, saying, “Six years of my blood and tears, and of my family’s support, this is the cream of the cake for me.” Originally from Papua New Guinea, she also has ties to Kadavu, which adds a layer of personal significance to her accomplishments in Fiji.
Completing her final year of medical rotations at the Labasa Divisional Hospital deepened her connection with the northern region of Fiji. Dr. Ravusiro expressed that the alignment of her graduation with her participation in the pageant feels like divine timing, stating, “I don’t know if you call it God’s timing, where all of this is happening at once. But each day, I remind myself that whatever tomorrow looks like, God loves me.”
Her journey serves as a beacon of inspiration, demonstrating the themes of determination and resilience. Dr. Ravusiro’s dual role as both a medical professional and pageant contestant illustrates the ability of modern women to pursue multiple passions simultaneously, reinforcing the idea that commitment and support can lead to remarkable achievements. In a world where such multifaceted identities are celebrated, her story encourages others to strive for their dreams while staying true to their roots.
