Pat Connaughton, who previously enjoyed a successful seven-season tenure with the Milwaukee Bucks, including a championship title, has recently transitioned to the Charlotte Hornets following a trade that also exchanged two second-round picks for guard Vasilije Micic. Upon joining the Hornets, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Peterson candidly informed Connaughton that he was not expected to secure a place on the opening night roster.
Despite this initial assessment, Connaughton has defied expectations by becoming a vital contributor to the Hornets’ rotation. Over the last five games, he has stepped up significantly, taking the position previously held by fellow teammate Tidjane Salaun, who is now playing in Greensboro. In a recent game against the Bucks, Connaughton showcased his skills by scoring a season-high 11 points and providing 2 assists, including two three-pointers.
