The Los Angeles Chargers will be without running back Kimani Vidal for their upcoming home game against the Houston Texans. Vidal has been declared inactive due to a neck injury, an issue that placed him on the questionable list leading up to the game. His absence will leave the Chargers with Hassan Haskins and Jaret Patterson as backup options behind rookie Omarion Hampton in the rushing game.

In a bit of good news for the Chargers, right guard Mekhi Becton has been cleared to play despite also being listed as questionable. His knee injury has improved enough for him to participate in the showdown.

On the Texans’ side, left tackle Aireontae Ersery will not play due to a thumb injury, compounding their issues on the offensive line. This comes after Trent Brown was ruled out earlier in the week with ankle and knee injuries. As a result, Blake Fisher is expected to step in for Ersery, while Tytus Howard will take over the right tackle position.

In addition to the aforementioned inactives, the Chargers have ruled out left tackle Jamaree Salyer, wide receiver Derius Davis, safety RJ Mickens, and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste, with edge rusher Kyle Kennard and tight end Tyler Conklin also inactive. The Texans will be without quarterback Graham Mertz, linebacker Jamal Hill, wide receiver Braxton Berrios, cornerback Alijah Huzzie, and defensive end Solomon Byrd.

Both teams will need to adapt to these key injuries as they look to secure a win, showcasing the depth and resilience of their rosters.
