Adapting to the challenges of being away from home has proven to be a pivotal experience for Extra Bula FC during Round Two of their campaign, according to player Filipe Baravilala. The team recently concluded a trip to Papua New Guinea, where they encountered intense competition alongside the difficulties posed by lengthy hotel stays and movement restrictions.

Baravilala spoke candidly about the mental toll of being away from loved ones and familiar surroundings. “Being away from home has been a factor for us, especially being out of our country. We really tried our best to adapt to it,” he stated. To mitigate these challenges, the players engaged in team bonding activities, striving to maintain a positive atmosphere. “We try to enjoy ourselves, play cards, and just hype each other up in the hotel. We knew it was going to be difficult being away from our families, but we are there for business. At the end of the day, we have to give our best on the field and maintain professionalism in camp,” Baravilala explained.

Despite the off-field hardships, Baravilala described Round Two as an exhilarating and enriching learning experience for the team. He emphasized that they are progressively improving, particularly in executing the game strategies imparted by their coaching staff.

With six rounds remaining in their campaign, Bula FC is eager to build on the lessons learned from their recent experience in Papua New Guinea. They are slated to face Vanuatu United in their next match on the 22nd of this month, which will be broadcast live on FBC 2. The team’s resilience and commitment to teamwork serve as an encouraging reminder of their ongoing development and determination in the competition.
