BLK has announced an expanded sponsorship for the Police contingent participating in this year’s Sukuna Bowl, broadening its support from rugby to a wider array of sports. This year’s partnership marks a significant enhancement, as BLK will provide uniforms not only for the Police and Army rugby teams but also for various other sports.
Sales and Marketing Manager Donasiano Kalou expressed the importance of this partnership, particularly since the Police team is hosting the event. He detailed that the sponsorship includes on-field kits for both the rugby teams and uniforms for other sports such as boxing, cricket, touch rugby, women’s rugby, soccer, and Tug of War. “For the rugby team, we are providing them with one set, but then we have the other sports that we are also doing their uniforms,” Kalou stated, reaffirming the emphasis on rugby while expanding the initiative.
The Sukuna Bowl is set to kick off next Monday, with boxing and cricket scheduled as the opening events. This initiative highlights BLK’s dedication to promoting sporting excellence and fostering unity within the community, which echoes the trend of increased corporate involvement in local sports. Previous collaborations between BLK and various rugby unions illustrate the critical role businesses play in supporting the development of athletic talent in Fiji.
As excitement builds for this year’s competition, BLK’s expanded sponsorship aims to boost athletes’ performance and enhance community engagement through sports. The Sukuna Bowl serves not only as a competitive event but also as a hub for camaraderie and friendly rivalry between the police and military forces, showcasing a range of sporting disciplines while celebrating teamwork and athleticism.
