Anna Queen baby play yards recalled for infant suffocation risk

Baby play yards sold on Amazon under the brand Anna Queen are being recalled due to serious safety concerns. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a warning about the risk of suffocation and entrapment associated with these play yards, which could potentially lead to severe injury or death for infants.

The CPSC indicated that these play yards breach mandatory safety standards, highlighting that infants can become trapped either beneath the mattress or between the sides of the play yard and the mattress itself, creating hazardous conditions.

The recalled play yards are noted for their black fabric sides and mesh panels that are framed in gray, with the top rails clad in white fabric adorned with a colorful print featuring bear faces, paws, and the word “bear.” A matching printed mattress is also included with each play yard.

Specific details for consumers include the model number ‘P700’ and a production date of ‘202503’, identifiable on the packaging and a removable tag attached to the play yard.

The CPSC strongly advises anyone in possession of these recalled play yards to cease usage immediately and reach out to Anna Queen for a full refund. To process the refund, consumers must disassemble the fabric cover from the play yard frame, cut it up, and also destroy the mattress pad. They are required to send a photograph of the destroyed items to tingerservice@outlook.com in order to receive the refund, after which they should properly dispose of the items.

Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries associated with these play yards to date. Since their introduction in March, these products have been retailing for prices between $100 and $110.

Anna Queen, officially known as Guangzhou Tinger Trading Co. Ltd., is a Chinese company. This recall underscores the importance of adhering to safety standards in child products and aims to ensure the safety and well-being of infants.
