Alejandra Espinoza is brimming with excitement and adrenaline as she prepares to kick off “¿Apostarías por mí?”, a new couples reality show that she will co-host with Alan Tacher starting Sunday, January 18. Speaking via Zoom, the Mexican presenter expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I love the idea, and from the moment it was presented to me, I got excited because if I weren’t working in television, this is the type of show I would watch.”
The reality show, produced by Ángel Aponte and Televisa Univision, will put 12 celebrity couples to the test, isolating them from the outside world to live under the watchful eyes of the public 24/7 through the ViX platform.
For both Alejandra and Alan, the challenge lies in the spontaneity of the show, as they will be going live without a script or rehearsals. “It’s a daunting challenge because there’s no script, no rehearsal, we’re going live and that’s it,” Alejandra explained.
In addition to the participating couples, there will be a panel of analysts featuring Jorge Lozano, Cecilia Galeano, and Lupillo Rivera. Alejandra believes their presence will add a unique flavor to the project. She remarked, “I have always thought that in any reality show, judges and analysts are key; they can make or break a show. They provide that extra seasoning that every dish needs, and who better to give us relationship advice than Lupillo Rivera?”
Joining Alejandra on the show is Roberto Hernández, a reporter from “El Gordo y La Flaca”, who will help engage the audience with the unfolding dynamic among the couples. He expressed his eagerness to see how the couples will interact under such close quarters, stating, “It’s complicated to live with 12 other couples, challenging each other and trusting one another, so it will be interesting to see how dynamics develop.”
Fans of reality shows are known for their intense passion, and Alejandra and Roberto are ready for the flood of comments that will surely follow. Alejandra humorously noted, “We need to be mentally prepared for the fans’ backlash, but more than anything, the participants and judges need to be prepared… because one wrong word or comment could be a big deal.”
