Ailava Samuel has made history by winning the Miss Pacific Island Pageant 2026, held on her home turf. The 19-year-old triumphed over six other contestants from across the Pacific, showcasing her talent and charisma. In addition to securing the crown, Samuel also earned the Best in Interview award, a testament to her excellent communication skills.

During her victory speech, Samuel expressed heartfelt gratitude towards her family and team for their unwavering support throughout her journey. She dedicated her win to her entire nation, a proud moment that reflects the spirit of unity and celebration within Fiji.

With this achievement, Samuel becomes the fourth Fijian woman to claim this prestigious title, following Anne Dunn’s victory in 2016. The competition featured numerous accolades, with Miss Papua New Guinea finishing as the 1st runner up, also receiving awards for Best Traditional Wear and Miss Internet. Miss Samoa secured the 2nd runner up position, while Tonga claimed the 3rd runner up spot along with the titles for Best Sarong and Miss Tourism. Cook Islands celebrated a commendable 4th runner up finish, receiving the Best Talent and Miss Photogenic awards. Additionally, the representative from Kiribati was honored with the Miss Personality award.

Samuel’s victory not only highlights her personal accomplishments but also shines a light on the rich cultural diversity and talent present within the Pacific Island communities.
