Aidy Bryant made a notable return to “Saturday Night Live” this weekend during a special segment featuring departing cast member Bowen Yang. Having left the show at the conclusion of Season 47, Bryant reprised her role as one half of the dynamic “Weekend Update” trend forecasters alongside Yang, who is also exiting the series.

The duo previously collaborated in the SNL Season 47 finale, marking Bryant’s final appearance on the show. During that segment, they humorously declared various items in and out of style, with their memorable commentary on grapes with seeds being “in!” and navel oranges being “out!” returning for an encore this weekend to give audiences a fresh round of laughter.

In their latest sketch, the Trend Forecasters took on holiday trends, humorously pointing out that “fighting with your family” was “in,” alongside a nod to the popular sock brand, Bombas, as a holiday favorite. On the flip side, mistletoe was deemed “out,” with Yang quipping about the awkwardness of kissing prompted by a plant when another option exists. The playful banter included Bryant and Yang’s comedic take on singing trends before they declared “out” for items such as Orange Chicken, Marge Simpson hair, and even Michael Che, who appeared visibly shocked alongside them.

Aidy Bryant’s return comes after a busy few years since her departure from SNL. She starred in Hulu’s “Shrill,” which ran for three seasons and has made guest appearances in various other productions, including voice work in “Big Mouth” and “Human Resources.” Additionally, she co-hosted the Independent Spirit Awards twice and was reported to headline the upcoming Peacock series “Lonely Hearts Club,” although the status of that project remains unclear.

With her well-loved comedic presence and successful career trajectory, Bryant’s return to SNL brought a nostalgic yet fresh delight to fans, showcasing her enduring talent in the world of sketch comedy.
