Yellowstone Spinoff Y: Marshals Teases Kayce’s Next Mission and Real-Life Marshals History

Fans of the popular series Yellowstone are eagerly anticipating the upcoming spinoff, Y: Marshals, which follows Kayce Dutton, portrayed by Luke Grimes, on his journey as a U.S. marshal. Scheduled to premiere in March 2026, the series will continue the story from where Yellowstone concluded, after Kayce made the pivotal decision to sell part of the Dutton Ranch.

While the show’s debut may still be some time away, those interested in the fascinating history of U.S. Marshals don’t have to wait. The newly inaugurated U.S. Marshals Museum in Fort Smith, Arkansas, offers an in-depth look into the legacy and impact of these federal law enforcement officers. The museum showcases the historical significance of the 13 original marshals and highlights some of Hollywood’s most iconic portrayals of lawmen, including Matt Dillon from Gunsmoke, Rooster Cogburn played by John Wayne in True Grit, and Tommy Lee Jones’ character Samuel Gerard in The Fugitive.

Ben Johnson, President & CEO of the U.S. Marshals Museum, expressed excitement about the museum’s rapid success, stating, “The museum has quickly become one of the hottest cultural destinations in the country. Visitors are coming to uncover thousands of untold stories — and they’re seeing firsthand how U.S. Marshals have shaped events that continue to make headlines today.”

This blend of entertainment and education not only broadens fans’ knowledge of this significant aspect of American history but also connects them to the narrative they love through the lens of reality. The opening of the museum complements the anticipated Y: Marshals series, making it an exciting time for fans to delve into both fiction and fact surrounding U.S. marshals.
