Content creator Lui Vuibureta, also known as Xcon, appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court today regarding allegations of breaching his bail conditions. The court was informed that Vuibureta failed to comply with three specific conditions: he did not surrender his passport, did not delete his social media accounts, and continued to engage on social media, particularly through his TikTok page.

During the hearing, Magistrate Josaia Waqaivolavola inquired whether Vuibureta remained eligible for bail. State counsel Tevita Naimila voiced strong opposition to any bail consideration, emphasizing that Vuibureta’s case is of significant public interest. Naimila further noted that the accused poses a potential threat to the community, particularly in light of an outstanding matter relating to serious bodily harm reported to the Valelevu Police.

When given the opportunity to respond to the objections raised by the state, Vuibureta chose to remain silent. He is now represented by a private counsel. Prosecutor Naimila also requested additional time to present disclosures regarding a video interview with the accused, which the court accepted, allowing a 14-day interval before the next hearing.

The case has been adjourned until February 16, with Vuibureta remaining in custody during this period. This legal situation raises important questions about the responsibilities of public figures and the impact of their actions on community safety.
