CINCINNATI – A mix of winter weather, including rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow, is set to disrupt the Monday morning commute, prompting a FOX19 NOW First Alert Weather Day. A winter weather advisory has been issued for the entire Tri-State, effective from 11 a.m. today.

Most areas can expect total snow and sleet accumulations of up to an inch, with some regions north of Cincinnati possibly receiving up to 2 inches. Additionally, ice accumulations may reach a tenth of an inch, particularly affecting northern Kentucky.

As temperatures drop into the low 30s, residents can anticipate a wintry mix throughout the morning. Drivers should be cautious of slick spots, particularly on bridges and overpasses, as untreated roads are likely to be hazardous regardless of the snowfall.

The weather timeline indicates that rain will begin to dominate after 1 p.m. as temperatures rise into the upper 30s. Monday evening will bring continued showers and patchy fog overnight, with temperatures dropping to around 36 degrees.

Looking ahead, the week will feature more widespread rain on Tuesday, extending from morning into the evening, accompanied by morning fog that could linger until lunchtime. Temperatures are expected to reach nearly 60 degrees. Wednesday follows suit with additional rain and the potential for thunderstorms after 4 p.m., along with an overall cloudy day and highs near 68 degrees. Rain is forecasted to persist through Sunday, with some areas anticipating total accumulation of up to 4 inches, while milder temperatures are expected to remain throughout the month.

This weather pattern serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of late winter conditions, urging residents to stay prepared and safe during their travels.
