Who Will Secure One of Fiji’s Seven Coral Coast Sevens Slots?

Excitement is building in Sigatoka as the Super 7s Qualifier for the 2026 McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji Sevens is set to begin this Saturday at Lawaqa Park. Organizers have revealed the pools and fixtures for what is expected to be one of the most competitive qualifying tournaments in recent history. A total of twenty-eight local teams will compete for just seven coveted spots in the main event scheduled for January.

Tournament Director Randall Kamea expressed his enthusiasm for the event, noting that organizers are eager to showcase an array of strong, fast-paced rugby throughout the one-day tournament.

In the opening round, Pool A features teams such as Devo Babas, Island Magic Daveta, Tubarua Highlanders, and C3 Brothers, promising a thrilling mix of experience, skill, and physical play. Meanwhile, Pool B includes Ratu Filise, Kesenavunivalu Rugby, Suva Stallions, and St Gabriel Nakavika, with Ratu Filise expected to take an early lead as their competitors work hard to catch up.

Pool C is made up of Uso Tasi Rugby, Lami Cavaliers, Pegasus Rugby, and Yaro Chiefs, offering a balanced competition where any team could potentially succeed. Pool D features Covenant Rugby, Ravuka Sharks, Yalova Spearhead, and Dominion Brothers. This group stands out for its power and strategy, with each team eager to showcase their finishing skills.

In Pool E, Flametree Waimanu will face off against Tuva Rugby, Deii Westfield, and Lomaviti, laying the groundwork for an exciting display of fast-paced rugby. Pool F is filled with talent, featuring Vacalea Young Boys, Taikita Brothers, Nahehevia Patriot, and Islanders Rugby—each renowned for their agility and speed, making it one of the most unpredictable pools of the day.

Lastly, Pool G, regarded as the heavyweight division, showcases Police Blue, Army Green, and Wardens alongside FSC Grassroots Fiji. These formidable teams are ready to take on the challenges presented by their rivals.

The matches will kick off early and continue throughout the day, culminating in the knockout rounds that will ultimately determine the seven qualifiers.
