Westpac Fiji has celebrated the successful completion of its 2025 Graduate Program with the promotion of two trainees, Anjesh Kumar Biggan and Harieta Muaror, who have both been offered permanent positions within the bank. This initiative is part of Westpac’s commitment to developing future leaders by providing emerging talent with structured rotations that span various departments, enhancing their skills and leadership potential.

Shane Smith, the chief executive officer of Westpac Fiji, expressed pride in the program’s ability to cultivate young professionals, emphasizing its status as a strategic priority for the bank. He stated, “Our Graduate Program is about building capability for the future,” highlighting the bank’s commitment to fostering adaptability and leadership among the next generation of employees.

Anjesh Biggan has accepted a position as a security officer after gaining invaluable experience across key areas of the organization. A native of Nasarawaqa, Bua, he holds a degree from the University of the South Pacific in Electrical Engineering, along with diplomas in Health Care Management. He is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management and has broadened his global perspective through programs like JENESYS and the One Ocean Expedition, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration and environmental responsibility.

Harieta Muaror, who also transitioned into a permanent role, shared that the program has been transformative for her. Describing it as “life-changing,” she appreciated the program’s inclusivity, which is designed for graduates of all backgrounds. Muaror noted, “The diversity within our cohort exposed me to different ways of thinking and learning,” and acknowledged the supportive environment at Westpac, which includes structured resources, regular check-ins, and access to senior leaders fostered by an open-door policy.

The success of the Westpac Graduate Program continues to highlight the bank’s dedication to mentoring young professionals and shaping a skilled workforce for the future, contributing not just to individual career growth but also to the overall prosperity of the local community.
