Weekend Weather Watch: Flurries, Cold Temps and Slick Roads on the Horizon

The weekend kicks off with cold and cloudy weather, but there’s a glimmer of hope for some melting as temperatures are expected to rise into the mid-30s this afternoon. While most of the day will remain dry, a few isolated flurries are possible.

For today, anticipate cloudy skies with a high of 35 degrees. Tonight will bring mostly cloudy conditions and chilly temperatures, dropping to around 28 degrees.

Looking ahead to Sunday, there’s a slight chance for flurries or a wintry mix as a cold front moves through the state. High temperatures will reach around 36 degrees. This change in weather could lead to an on-and-off wintry mix throughout the afternoon, making road conditions potentially slick by Sunday night.

As we enter Monday, expect predominantly dry and cold conditions with highs only reaching the upper 20s.

Tuesday offers a slight reprieve with a mix of sun and clouds and milder temperatures peaking at 36 degrees. However, mid-week will bring a more significant weather system, with rain likely transitioning to snow on Wednesday, reaching a high of 41 degrees.

Cold weather returns toward the latter part of the week, with scattered snow showers expected on Thursday and highs dropping to 32 degrees.

Residents are reminded to stay cautious in the changing conditions, especially on the roads as we approach the weekend. With the holiday season in full swing, initiatives such as Toys for Tots provide an opportunity to give back to the community amidst the wintry weather.
