Vodafone Rakiraki Festival Launches Rise Above Theme to Build Strong Minds and Bright Futures

The Vodafone Rakiraki Festival was officially inaugurated on Friday, embracing the theme “Rise Above, Building Strong Minds, Bright Futures.” This week-long celebration features five contestants competing for the title of Queen.

Nilesh Singh, Vodafone Fiji’s head of recharge and distribution, emphasized the significance of the festival’s theme, describing it as particularly relevant for the Rakiraki community. “While this region boasts incredible natural beauty, the true heart of Rakiraki lies in its people, known for their warmth, generosity, and resilience against challenges,” Singh remarked.

The “Rise Above” theme encourages the community to overcome temporary setbacks, whether they involve environmental, social, or economic struggles, calling attention to the importance of resilience. Singh articulated that the initiative focuses on “Building Strong Minds,” advocating for education, mental health awareness, and critical thinking to equip the youth for a rapidly evolving world. He stated, “When we invest in strong minds, the bright future for Rakiraki becomes a certainty, not just a hope.”

For three decades, Vodafone Fiji has committed to connecting Fijians and fostering progress within the community. Singh highlighted the vital role of digital infrastructure, enabling students to access educational resources, businesses to trade globally, and families to stay connected regardless of distance.

“As a proud major sponsor of this community celebration, we stand ready to help every community, including Rakiraki, rise above their limitations and embrace the digital opportunities available,” he added.

Addressing the contestants vying for the Queen title, Singh encouraged them to utilize their platform not only for glamour but also for advocacy, embodying the message of resilience and determination.

The Vodafone Rakiraki Festival is set to take place from November 22 to November 29, ensuring a week filled with community engagement and celebration, focused on building a stronger future together. This event shines as a beacon of hope, promoting unity and encouraging individuals to face challenges with confidence and collective strength.
