Former UFC champion Jon Jones was involved in a brief roadside confrontation in Albuquerque on April 3 after a heated driving exchange, video posted to social media shows.

The footage, shared on Instagram by a man who identified himself as Bryan Beltran, captures Jones approaching Beltran in a parking lot near Central Avenue and Eubank after an on-road incident. Beltran’s caption said he was “almost hit three times” by a black Ford SVT while driving, that he revved his engine and then flipped off the driver, and that the truck subsequently followed him into the lot. Beltran said he did not immediately recognize Jones as the driver.

In the clip Jones walks up with one hand in his pocket and tells Beltran, “You gotta calm down, bro. You gotta relax yourself, bro,” then flips Beltran off and walks away. The exchange remained verbal and did not escalate into a physical confrontation. The video was later circulated on Twitter by Championship Rounds.

Beltran’s Instagram post described the incident in more detail, saying the truck stopped in the middle of the road, backed up and entered the same parking area after the road altercation. He also wrote that a separate close call the previous night had heightened his frustration and that he hopes to “squash the beef” with Jones in a future meeting. All of those claims are presented by Beltran in his account accompanying the video.

The incident is notable because of Jones’ long, high-profile career and off-ring legal troubles. Jones, a former two-division UFC champion, has had a string of controversies outside the Octagon over the years. His immediate fighting future has been uncertain: Jones was not on the upcoming historic UFC White House card after financial disagreements, and UFC CEO Dana White has said the former champion “was never actually in the plans” and may be finished competing.

Neither Jones nor his representatives responded publicly to requests for comment in the wake of the video’s circulation. Local authorities were not reported to be involved, and there has been no indication of criminal charges stemming from the April 3 exchange. The footage adds another public incident to Jones’ record of off-cage confrontations but remained a short, non-violent episode that ended with both men walking away.
