Urgent recall: Amazon play yards tied to suffocation risk—what parents need to know

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission is advising families to immediately cease the use of specific play yards sold on Amazon due to serious risks of suffocation and entrapment. The recall affects Anna Queen-branded play yards after federal authorities determined they do not meet established safety standards.

Regulators have indicated that infants can potentially slip beneath the mattress or become stuck between the mattress and the side panels of the play yards. Approximately 70 units are involved in this recall. These play yards, which were available on Amazon starting in March 2025, were priced between $100 and $110.

The recalled models are identifiable by their black side fabric, gray-bordered mesh panels, and white top rails embellished with multi-colored bear faces, paws, and the word “bear.” The mattress also features the same playful design. Each affected unit is labeled with “Model: P700” and “Production Date: 202503,” which can be found on both the packaging and the removable model tag.

Consumers are advised to remove the fabric cover, cut it along with the mattress into pieces, and send a photo of the destroyed components to Anna Queen at tingerservice@outlook.com to receive a full refund. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries or incidents related to this recall.

This recall underscores the importance of safety in children’s products and the ongoing commitment of regulatory bodies to protect families from potential hazards. Parents are encouraged to take swift action to ensure the safety of their children by following the recall instructions.
